Unidentified body recovered in Dimapur

Dimapur, Oct. 29 (EMN): Dimapur Police recovered one unidentified male body, aged around 35 to 40 years, from 258/3-2 Rangapahar crossing area on October 29. According to a police report, the deceased was suspected to be run-over by a running train. It stated that the body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur (DHD) for post mortem examination and identification after completion of all legal formalities. The deceased was dark in complexion and wearing red t-shirt and black half pant. Relatives and friends of the deceased are requested to contact the officer-in-charge of GRPS, Dimapur, on mobile No. 7085055021 for further information.

NSCN/GPRN, LJP greet Zeliang community

Dimapur, Oct. 29 (EMN): Akato Chophi-led NSCN/GPRN has greeted the Zeliang community on the occasion of Chega-Gadi/ Lamsimngyi/ Kwakpo festival. An NSCN/GPRN’s statement through its MIP stated that the festival is marked by feasting, merry-making and thanksgiving, and is believed that the Almighty God showers blessings upon his people with rich harvest and good health. It added that the rich cultural heritage and traditional values are displayed during the festival. It further wished that the golden values of honesty, respect, hard-work, courage and kindness be their guiding principles. In another statement, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Nagaland unit, has greeted the Zeliang community on the occasion of Chaga Gadi and Lamsimngyi festival. According to LJP media cell, it is a festival of joy, love, forgiveness and rest, which is celebrated to invoke God’s blessings on his people and also reminding about the roots of their rich cultural heritage and traditional values.

Colonies to impose half-day closer on Sunday

Dimapur, Oct. 29 (EMN): The Ward 21 Welfare Committee, a conglomeration of four colonies namely Notun Bosti, Middle Point Colony, Churches Colony and Nyamo Lotha Colony, has resolved to keep all the business establishments closed till 12 noon on all Sundays within its jurisdictions. An update from the committee convenor, S Wai Imchen, and the secretary, Omega G Naga, stated that shops would be permitted to open only after 12 noon. It further informed that petrol pumps and pharmacies would be exempted from the purview.

SPS holds children’s camp

Dimapur, Oct. 29 (EMN): Shalom Public School in Chümoukedima organised a children’s camp at the school premises on October 28 and 29 on the theme “Wilderness escape: Where God guides and provides.” The camp was conducted under the leadership of Covenant Kids, Spirit of Faith Church and The Kingdom Church. A variety of activities and counseling sessions marked the camp.

Fit India Freedom Run held in Kohima

Dimapur, Oct. 29 (EMN): Department of School Education organised the 3rd edition of ‘Fit India Freedom Run 3.0’ on October 28, wherein students from GMS Daklane and GMS Naga Bazaar participated with much joy and enthusiasm. It stated that the special guest and deputy director of School Education, B Nelayapan, has emphasised on the importance of physical fitness and encouraged everyone to practice in their daily life. He also lauded the government for giving priority on the fitness. The programme was held on the theme “Azadi ke 75 saal, fitness rahe bemisaal.” The Fit India Freedom Run 3.0 started at Tin Pati junction and culminated at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima Junction.

NST notifies on night services

Dimapur, Oct. 29 (EMN): Nagaland State Transport (NST) has informed that all the night super services, which are currently departing from Old NST bus station to Mon, Tuensang, Shamator, Chessore, Mokokchung and Longleng, would now depart from ISBT at Purana Bazaar with effect from November 1. An update from the NST assistant general manager informed that the departure timing would remain the unchanged. He also informed that booking of tickets could be done either at Old NST Station as well as at ISBT.
