NSCN (IM) clarifies October 21 incident

Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): The NSCN (IM) on Saturday clarified that the stand-off like incident that took place on October 21 between the Assam Rifles and Naga army of NSCN somewhere near Council Headquarters (CHQ), Hebron, has been resolved amicably at higher level. An NSCN (IM)’s statement through its MIP clarified that there was no snatching of arms from the Assam Rifles personnel as reported by some local dailies.

NPC conducts skill development class

Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): Norman Putsure College (NPC) conducted a skill development class on horticulture and floriculture for the students at Sovima campus on October 22. The college has its academic centres in Chümoukedima and Sovima for extracurricular activities. It informed that besides imparting full-fledged academic syllabus, the college administration is also focusing on other extracurricular activities to enable the students have access to a wide range of skills especially in floriculture, horticulture, fishery and bamboo handicraft for a sustainable livelihood in the future. An update from the college informed that all the students participated in the programme.

NPROA convenes annual meeting

Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): Nagaland Police Retired Officers’ Association (NPROA) has convenes its 7th annual general meeting (AGM) and election of new office bearers for the tenure 2022-2025 on October 25 at Central Police Officers’ Mess, Chümoukedima, at 11 am. The association press secretary has requested all retired inspectors and above and Nagaland Police Service (NPS) officers to attend the meeting.

PWC organises cleanliness drive

Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): As part of Swachhta Hi Seva campaign, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of Pranabananda Women’s College (PWC), Dimapur, organised a one-day cleanliness drive in the college campus as well as in Lhomithi Colony on October 22. The activity was coordinated by Ulla Fernandez, assistant professor and programme officer NSS Cell, PWC. An update from the college informed that the activity was successfully carried out under the guidance of the college’s principal, vice principal and faculty members. The college further looked forward to carry out more such activities for the betterment of society in future.

ATMA Dhansiripar conducts training for farmers

Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): Agricultural Technological Management Agency (ATMA), Dhansiripar block, conducted demonstration and mobilisation of farmers group programmes on October 19 and 20 at Munglumuk, Bade and Shokhuvi villages respectively. It informed that demonstration on sowing of potato and tuber seed treatment with trichoderma fungicide and plastic mulch for solar soil treatment for vegetable crops in nursery bed were carried out by resource persons BTM Moainla and ATM Kaiho Achumi. It added that inputs like potato (Kufri Jyoti) supplied by DAO, Dimapur, Trichoderma and winter vegetable seeds were distributed to the participants who attended the programme.

RPOD to meet on October 24

Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): Rengma Public Organisation Dimapur (RPOD) has convened a general meeting and induction of new team of office bearers for the tenure 2022-2025 on October 24 at Tetso College auditorium, Sovima, at 11 am. The organisation general secretary, Alo Kent Rengma, has requested all the range/ union presidents and all presidents of RMA Dimapur, DRYO and DRSU to be present at the meeting.

Rev. Nuh clarifies his statement

Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): Chairman of Naga Archive and Research Centre, Rev. Dr. VK Nuh, has clarified to his statement during ‘Naga National Prayer Day’ hosted by Council of Nagalim Church on October 16. Rev. Nuh stated that he has no grudges or enmity with Th. Muivah, Late Isak Chishi Swu and Late SS Khaplang. “With no ill intention whatsoever, I conveyed what I believed to be appropriate so that Nagas may forgive one another and truly repent so that we may find God’s grace and forgiveness,” Rev. Nuh said. He has tendered apology for the misinterpretation of his message by some vested Indian journalists which created misunderstanding. Rev. Nuh stated that he meant to convey that, “NSCN must say sorry for the misdeeds and wrongdoings committed by its workers in the name of nationalism and repent so as to make Nagalim for Christ a reality.” He has apologised to Th. Muivah and the family members of Late Isak Chishi Swu and late SS Khaplang.

Mount Tiyi College organises cleanliness drive

Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): NSS unit of Mount Tiyi College in Wokha organised a cleanliness drive in its adopted village Koio on October 22 and donated two waste bins to the village. Delivering a short address, Rentsamo J Humtsoe, NSS programme officer, highlighted that Swachh Bharat Mission was launched as a national movement on October 2, 2014, by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He exhorted people to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a clean and hygienic India and urged the people to imbibe a sense of responsibility. NSS volunteers have cleaned the church and community hall during the cleanliness drive.
