NMA, CMA condemn murder

Dimapur, Jan. 6 (EMN): The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) and Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) have condemned the murder of one Khrutalu by her husband, Thejakolie Angami, constable of MT DEF Kohima, on December 24, 2022. “Such gruesome crime cannot be justified in anyway and is against our culture and religion. No one has the right to take law in our own hands,” NMA stated in a condemnation note. NMA also urged the law enforcing authorities to award exemplary punishment in accordance with the law of the land. In a separate condemnation note, the CMA stated that no cause can “justify such brutality and senseless killing.” The association president, Zhonelu Tunyi, and general secretary, Kezevinuo Krome, appealed to all right-thinking citizens to condemn the barbaric act. It also urged the law enforcement authorities to carry out investigation and hold those involved accountable.

SVEEP mobile van flagged off in Niuland

Dimapur, Jan. 6 (EMN): As a part of SVEEP activity, a mobile demonstration van was flagged off by the deputy commissioner of Niuland, Sara S Jamir at her office premises on January 5. The mobile van has been set up in Niuland town market area and awareness was imparted on the use of EVM/ VVPAT. In addition, a hands-on demonstration of the use of EVM/VVPAT was imparted to the public, a DIPR report stated.

NSCN (IM) condoles demise of three cadres

Dimapur, Jan. 6 (EMN): NSCN (IM) has condoled the demise of its three members during the first week of January 2023 due to illness. An NSCN (IM)’s statement through its MIP stated that razou peyu Kaisii Pfokrehrii from Chowainamai Khullen village under Shepoumaramth region and khapur M Zao from Phaibung Khullen village under Shepoumaramth region passed away on January 1 and 2 respectively. It added that its joint secretary, Chingmei Phom from Phom region passed away on January 6. It stated their names would be recorded in the pages of the Naga history for their contributions towards the cause of the Naga nation. It further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for peace of the departed souls.
