Excise dept. seizes liquor

Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): In an extensive combined raids and checking, the Dimapur District Excise, Mobile Squad and Narcotic Cell of Excise department managed to seize a total of 2655 bottles/cans of assorted IMFL and 1255 litre of country liquor within Dimapur and Chümoukedima districts between October 10 and 18. A press release issued by the deputy commissioner of Excise (HG), S Changlei Angh, stated that all the accused persons were booked and penalised under relevant sections of the NLTP Act, 1989. He added that the country liquors were destroyed on the spot, while the assorted IMFL were safely deposited at the concerned malkhana for destruction.

Pongmei Phom assigned additional duty

Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): Department of Power has assigned Pongmei Phom, SDO (IT) SLDC, Dimapur, for implementation of smart prepaid meters in addition to her normal duties with immediate effect. The engineer-in-chief of Power department, Moa Aier, has directed her to report at EE (MIS), Dimapur, for the above assignment.

MHSS adolescent girls’ club meeting held

Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): The Nagaland Adolescent Girls’ Club of Mewi Higher Secondary School (MHSS) conducted its monthly club meeting on October 18. The supervisor of Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB), Juliana Medom, and programme assistant, Manlee Manpuhro, were the resource persons. A small group activity on needs and wants was conducted on the occasion, an update informed.

AOAN convenes annual session

Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): The Agriculture Officers’ Association Nagaland (AOAN) has convened its 1st annual general session on October 22 at 1 pm at Angh House, Agri. Expo, Chümoukedima. AOAN, in an update, informed all the agriculture officers to attend the session.

BJP official donates solar lights

Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): Convenor of BJP Nagaland Traders Cell, Kyupise Sangtam, has donated 10 integrated solar street lights towards USBLA Mission Center and Oriental Theological College, Yangli, on October 18. Kyupise Sangtam stated that the facilities were provided to mitigate the problem faced by the public in rural areas particularly the students and churches.
