FGN rejects impeachment claim
The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has refuted a news report titled "FGN impeaches functionary", published by a section of the media on June 8. A rejoinder issued by the FGN's MIP kilonser stated that the council of kilonsers and tatar hoho had no prior knowledge of the matter. “We categorically state that the Council of Kilonsers and Tatar Hoho did not participate in any meeting or deliberation that endorsed or supported the removal of Kitoho Zhimomi, Kilo Kilonser, son of Hokheto Zhimomi of Nitozu village," the statement said. The FGN further maintained that allegations claiming Kitoho Zhimomi had joined seven Naga political groups within one and a half years were "unfounded and untrue." "Therefore, as matters stand, we are not in favour of the reported decision and do not recognise that it has been made with our knowledge and approval. As such, the removal is not official," the statement added.
