Meeting for panel to examine the Nagaland-Assam border issue

Dimapur, Jan. 21 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister and Convenor of the Assembly’s Select Committee to Examine the Nagaland-Assam Border Issue, Neiphiu Rio, has convened a meeting of the committee on January 24 at 10 am in the Committee Room of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Kohima. All the concerned members of the committee are asked to make it convenient to attend the meeting.

Handloom expo in Mokokchung

Dimapur, Jan. 21 (EMN): Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. (NHHDC), Dimapur, will organise a state handloom expo at Imkongmeren Sports Complex in Mokokchung from February 2 to the 15th. The expo is being sponsored by the office of the Development Commissioner (Handloom), Ministry of Textiles, government of India. Interested co-operative societies, NGO, apex societies, SHG have been asked to apply from its project cell at Half Nagarjan, Dimapur, along with their identity cards issued by the corporation, on or before January 28. Those applying from outside Dimapur district are asked to submit documents including detailed address, mobile number, bank account number with IFSC code to 7005151773 and 70054 11382 for registration.

Renewal of trade license

Dimapur, Jan. 21 (EMN): Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) has issued a notice informing all the business establishments within its jurisdiction that renewal of trade license and fresh registration of firms would commence from March 1 to the 31st. The SDO  and CTC administrator, Thejavizo Nakhro, has directed all the business establishments to register or renew their trade license as per Nagaland Municipal Act 2001. He added that defaulters would be strictly dealt with as per the provision of law.

Thonoknyu public urged to foster unity

Dimapur, Jan. 21 (EMN): Advisor of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Evaluation and Economics and Statistics, L Khumo has urged the public to preserve the traditional customs and heritage of the forefathers and also foster unity among the people living at Thonoknyu headquarters in Noklak district.

Khumo stated this during the foundation day celebration of Thonoknyu Town Cultural Club on at Thonoknyu public ground on Friday.

He urged the club members to maintain friendly relation with others and be agents to bring about reconciliation and unity to the people living in Thonoknyu headquarters.

Speech on the significance of the cultural club was delivered by its advisor, Liang, while the head GB Putsoi and SDO (Civil) of Thonoknyu Longtiba L Sangtam exhorted the gathering.

The welcome address was delivered by the club president Y Yaolai and the vote of thanks by TTAC vice chairman C Pushou.
