Nagaland: NBSE notifies not to conduct selection test

Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has reminded all the head of institutions not to conduct selection test at class 10 or 12 level to screen out the poor learners but ensure covering the course/syllabus of the academic year as well as identify the learning gaps among the students and address their varied needs.

NBSE has issued this notification as many institutions continue to conduct selection test to screen out or drop the poor learners from appearing the HSLC and HSSLC Examinations despite the fact that selection test was done away in 2014 as notified on March 10, 2014, and stated in the rules under management of examination 2014.

NBSE notified that all possible efforts should be taken to give remedial measures, special classes etc. for the weak students to improve their performance. It has also directed all the schools to conduct model test at the end of completion of the course based on the design of the Board’s question paper to orient the students to sit for the Board’s examinations.

NBSE has notified all the head of institutions for strict compliance of the order.

Meanwhile, NBSE has notified all the head of institutions that all the students should fill up the application forms for the ensuing HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2023 online through NBSE portal – nbsenl.edu.in. It added that schools could start filling up the forms online with effect from September 27 for HSLC examination 2023.

It also informed the repeaters of HSLC and HSSLC examinations intending to appear the ensuing examinations 2023 to contact their respective institutions and centres for filling up the application forms and payment of examination fees according to their category.

NBSE stated that instructions to fill up the application form has been made available in the Board’s portal nbsenl.edu.in under the heading “Instructions for filling up of forms for HSLC and HSSLC Examination 2023.” Intending candidates of HSLC and HSSLC Examinations 2023 are asked to visit the portal for necessary action.

Further, repeaters are asked to submit the original admit card and marksheet to the institution where they fill up the form adding that the institution should submit the original documents to the examination centre to be allotted by the Board. It stated that centres would collect and keep the documents of the repeaters for onward submission to the Board.
