Dimapur, Nov. 12 (EMN): Loyir team defeated Hozukhe to lift the 36th GB’s trophy on Saturday, organised by Ato Area Sports’ Association.

The meet concluded on Saturday with Yimso Yimchunger, co-ordinator of Mission Possible International (India) as a guest of honour at Hozukhe village in Niuland district.

Addressing the gathering, Yimchunger said sports help people in their personal growth and trains them to be disciplined and focused as leaders and team players, an update stated.

He also encouraged the teams to undertake sports as a mission, to learn and start grooming to be professional players and bring laurels to the Ato Area and the state as well.

Individuals prizes for the tournament were given to Toka Hozukhe team and Pungrun for hattrick; Toka, Hozukhe for highest scorer with eight goals; Dodo, Loyir for best defender; Tokato Kiba, Hozukhe for best goalkeeper;  Kanoto Zhimo, Nikhekhu for  best player.

In men’s volleyball, Sukhato were the champions and Ghokuto were the first runner-up; while the best player went to Vitol.

In women’s volleyball, Hozukhe were the champions while Khehoyi were the first runner-up; the best player went to Khekali.

In men’s badminton, Loyir came first and Toshiho second; the best player was awarded to Awoka.

In women’s badminton, Loyir secured first prize and Hozukhe second; the best player was Sorila.
