Kohima, Dec. 16 (EMN): A three-day silver jubilee celebration of Koinonia Baptist Church (KBC) got under way at NBCC Convention Centre in Kohima on the theme “Proclaim the year of the Lord” on Friday.

During the first service, Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo, founder and senior pastor of Koinonia Baptist Church (KBC) and principal of Kohima Bible College (KBC), delivered the message on ‘I will my build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it,’ (Mathew 16:18), a sermon he first delivered at Koinonia back in December 1997.

He told the congregation to rejoice at all times and not be victims but emerge victorious in the likeness of Christ in this regard and exhorted them to fix their eyes upon Jesus Christ and live a holy life.

The speaker told the people in attendance to get rid of evils and stressed on the need for church and believers to standstill in times of storms and be rooted in the strong foundation of Christ and not be misled by wrong doctrines and other demonic fests.

Rev. Kiewhuo added that the Koinonia Baptist Church is committed for deliverance of the lost souls and breakthrough worshipping in truth without compromise.

Greeting was shared by Medoneiu Usou, Executive Secretary of Pesocha Baptist Church Council (PBCC), while the jubilee theme song was presented by Koinonia Baptist Church choir and songs were presented by ‘The Rubies,’ Ato Nienu and Nerehema Baptist Church Centenary choir.

Earlier, Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo also unveiled the silver jubilee monolith at the new church site in the presence of the church evangelists, deacons and other workers.

The programme was chaired by H Rokopra Mekro, KNC assistant pastor.

On Saturday at 10 am, there will be a ‘jubilee concert and talents celebration,’ which will be compered by Kikruneinuo Liezietsu and Aben Belho.

Later in the evening at 3 pm, there will be a gospel service with Rev. Joy Lalsangkima, director of Agapia Social Centre, as the speaker and the service will be led by Medotsilieu Kiewhuo, KBC pastor.

It was informed that free bus services will be provided at various locations in and around Kohima in the morning and in the evening both for picking and dropping.
