Dimapur, Sep. 7 (EMN): The All Nagaland Junior Engineers’ Association (ANJEA), comprising Nagaland Public Works Department (NPWD), Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Power departments, has resolved to stage a democratic protest against the state government over the failure to address its grievances regarding Grade-B promotion under Nagaland Engineering Service Rules.

The association stated that under the service rules, the Group-B cadre of engineers were deprived of timely promotion to the post of SDO and never got the opportunity for further promotion.

“So many members have retired without a single promotion and more members are in line due to stagnation,” read the press release from the association, adding that the government has failed to take any positive steps to address our grievances till date despite submitting representations and subsequent reminders.

To express its resentment, the Association has decided to start its “first stage” of democratic form of protest for six days starting from September 12 by wearing black badges. The second stage would continue in the form of casual/earned leave “if the Association does not receive any positive outcome,” it added.
