Kohima, June 26 (EMN): In an attempt to eradicate proxy teaching practice in Nagaland, Principal Director of School Education, Shanavas C on Saturday directed all the heads of all government schools to ensure registration of all teachers (including school heads) on the Teachers App.

In a circular, the official notified the school heads to update complete details of the institutions on the online school monitoring portal including teachers’ list.

Further, it directed the schools to submit daily activity reports on the online school monitoring portal before 4 pm of all working days along with attendance report of teachers.

‘The employee code column on teachers’ list on the portal should be filled with correct employee codes issued by the department. Only the formats EDN/1234 and RMSA1234 should be entered at the employee code column,’ it stated.

School heads were also informed to send details of teachers having issues with employee code to the directorate through email to reports.dosenl@gmail.com for solution and advised to take the assistance of the designated online school monitoring supervisors from the district education office (DEO) or sub-divisional education office (SDEO) establishments.

It warned that the department would withhold the salary of the school heads who ‘wilfully fail to comply with the directives’.

It may be mentioned that this is an effort of the department towards removing ‘proxy practice’ and for improvement of education in the state.
