Dimapur, June 30 (EMN): Nagaland Governor RN Ravi has thanked doctors and other healthcare professionals on behalf of the people of the state on the occasion of National Doctors’ Day, which falls on July 1, and wished them the best.

Expressing gratitude for tirelessly and selflessly working to save lives amidst the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic, Ravi said “they are doing this yeoman service to humanity putting their own lives at high risk and often cut off from their near and dear ones.”

“I pay my heartfelt tribute to the Corona Martyrs,” read his message, citing many healthcare professionals losing their lives in the line of duty since the coronavirus outbreak.

“The unfortunate incidents of violence against doctors and healthcare professionals reported from some parts of the country are unacceptable to a civilised society and calls for outright condemnation and exemplary punishment to the perpetrators,” he added.
