Dimapur, July 30 (EMN): Nagaland Governor RN Ravi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have extended greetings to the Chang community and the people of the state on the occasion of Naknyulüm festival.

“The festival celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil and love over hatred. On this occasion the Changs share their produce, exchange gifts and care for one another,” read Ravi’s message.

“The centuries-old festival and its rituals signify and embody the deep seated philosophy of the community and its cultural values – of peaceful and harmonious co-existence not only among the people but also with the environment,” it added, while wishing the people peace and prosperity.

The chief minister of the state also took to Twitter to extend his greetings on the auspicious occasion.

“On the occasion of Naknyulüm, I extend greetings to the Chang community. May the festival of good over evil be observed in its true spirit and foster goodwill among all sections of people. Best wishes for the well-being of everyone. Naknyulüm salem!” wrote Rio.
