Nagaland government lifts Covid-19 restrictions from April 1

Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): The government of Nagaland has lifted all restrictions and measures for containment of Covid-19 under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, beyond March 31.

Nagaland Chief Secretary J Alam, in a notification, stated that there will not be any further extension of restrictions for any activity in the state imposed through the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued for preventing the spread of Covid-19.

Further, the SOP for travellers/tourists entering Nagaland in the context of Covid-19 would also be withdrawn from April 1.

However, it advised to continue adhering to the Covid-appropriate behaviour such as wearing of facemasks in public places, regular washing of hands by soap and water or sanitiser, maintaining physical distancing, among others.

Further, everyone above 12 years of age have been advised to get fully vaccinated against Covid-19, and to take precautionary dose at the earliest if due.

The notification added that the Health and Family Welfare department would continue to monitor the situation and focus on the five-fold strategy – Test-Track-Treat- Vaccination and adherence to Covid-appropriate behaviour.
