Nagaland: GHSS Wokha organises ‘Rising Star’ season one

GHSS Wokha organises ‘Rising Star’ season one
GHSS Wokha Vice Principal Mhonbeni giving away the trophy and certificate to the winner of Rising Star season held at GHSS Wokha on Sep. 21.

The grand finale of “Rising Star” season one was held at Government Higher secondary School (GHSS) Wokha on Sep. 21 with Project Director DRDA Wokha, Thungdeno Mozhui as the special guest.

Ethungbeni R Tsanglao was adjudged winner of the first season while Zuchobeni and Annie Ezung bagged the first and second runner-up respectively.

Altogether, eight individuals took part in the competition.

Winners and top five finalists received cash prizes, certificates and trophy contributed by the teachers of GHSS Wokha. Thungdeno Mozhui speaking on the occasion advised the students to inculcate the right attitude in life with good discipline and become professionals.

She stated that anyone can chose music as a profession but effort is all it takes for success. She also advised the students community to dedicate their life and remain sincere to what they are doing and to keep faith in God to become a star.

With the initiative of senior principal GHSS Wokha Y Vungthungo, the teaching faculties and GHSS music club Wokha organised the event to encourage the young students to take up music and to explore their talents while providing platform to the young students in the school.

The panel of Judges for the first session ‘Rising Star’ were Tsenjonthung Odyuo, guitarist of K3M (Band) and Sr. Supervisor ICDS project Bhandari; Mhademo Ennio, guitarist of Aisle on fire (AoF) and event manager, TaFMA Wokha district and L Achumbeni Humtsoe musician and acting vice principal of Bailey Baptist College Wokha.

Meanwhile, TaFMA Wokha district informed that a  band competition and choral competition would be conducted at GHSS auditorium hall on Sep. 28 for direct entry in the upcoming Hornbill festival.
