Nagaland Covid-19 update: Recoveries overtake fresh cases

As many as 13 new Covid-19 cases were detected in Nagaland on Friday, taking the tally to 31,410 while active caseload declined to 289 following the recuperation of 34 patients.

The state’s death toll increased to 654 with one more fatality reported in the last 24 hours and the cumulative recoveries rose to 29,445 till date.

According to the update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, seven coronavirus positive cases were detected in Dimapur, three in Kohima, two in Mokokchung, and one in Phek on Friday, while 21 patients in Dimapur, seven in Kohima and six in Mokokchung recovered during the same period.

Out of the active cases in the state, 210 asymptomatic, 55 mild, seven moderate on oxygen, eight severe on oxygen, one in ICU without ventilator, and eight in ICU on ventilator. Dimapur accounts for 166 of these cases, Kohima- 54, Mokokchung- 32, Phek- 12, Tuensang- 9, Wokha- 5, Mon- 4, Kiphire- 4, Longleng- 2 and Peren- 1, while Zunheboto is currently Covid-free.

India logs 21257 new cases

Meanwhile, India recorded 21,257 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 3,39,15,569, while 24,963 recoveries pushed active caseload to 2,40,221 which is lowest in 205 days, according to data provided by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The country’s death toll has climbed to 4,50,127 with 271 new fatalities registered in the last 24 hours, while the cumulative recoveries rose to 3,32,25,221.

The update went on to add that 93.17 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far since the nationwide vaccination drive started.
