Nagaland Covid-19 cases tally reach 156; 49 recovered

Dimapur, June 12 (EMN): With a record 26 new Covid-19 positive cases, Nagaland breached the 150-mark on Friday, increasing the state’s tally to 156.
“Seventeen new cases of Covid-19 positive have been reported out of 67 samples tested at Dibrugarh. All patients are from Dimapur quarantine centres,” the minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, tweeted at 6.20 am on Friday morning.
Thereafter, at 8:35 am, the minister tweeted again: “Another 9 new cases of Covid-19 positive have been reported out of 251 samples tested at NHAK. Six patients from Dimapur QC, 2 from Kohima QC and 1 from Peren QC.”
This is also the highest single-day increase in the number of cases in the state till date.
Health authorities in Nagaland have so far declared 49 patients as ‘recovered’.
Nagaland recorded its first three Covid-19 positive cases on May 25. The number of positive cases breached the 100-mark on June 6 as 13 returnees from Chennai tested positive for the virus.
As per the Health department’s update, there are 107 active cases, and no death till date.
