Church youth trained on mushroom cultivation

Dimapur, Feb. 21 (EMN): A one-day training on quality mushroom cultivation for the youth department of Aitlenden Baptist Church was held on February 19 at Rajeshwari Karuna School in Tuli under Mokokchung district.

An update from the Community Educational Centre Society (CECS), Grace Colony in Kuda village ‘C,’ informed that the youth of the church were given hands-on training on various aspects of producing quality mushrooms. It added that special lectures and practical sessions were conducted to provide more knowledge to the trainees.

It also stated that an interactive session was also conducted between the trainees and the experts, where doubts were clarified on the future of mushroom farming and its profit.

The training program was coordinated by Markumzuk, a trainer on organic kitchen gardens, and Amenla Jamir, principal of Rajeshwari Karuna School, Tuli.

Meanwhile, it stated that the participants expressed gratitude for organising the one-day training and looked forward to organising similar training on organic farming techniques for self-reliance and sustainability.
