Nagaland Chief Minister Rio condoles demise of Tokheli, wife of former legislator

DIMAPUR: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed grief over the demise of Tokheli Assumi, wife of Pukhayi Sumi, former advisor for Food and Civil Supplies department.

In his condolence message, Rio described Assumi, who passed away on Friday after a prolonged illness, as a ‘compassionate and supportive wife, mother and grandmother’.

“She was a humble person, who feared the Lord and taught her children to be kind and loving to others,” read the message.

“The family has lost a pillar and the void left by her absence will be deeply felt. The pain you must be going through is unimaginable but throughout her sickness you have been there for her and gave your best to care for her. Indeed, no words are enough to fathom the loss, however, let us reminisce the good memories and celebrate her life,” it added.

“In this hour of grief, my family joins me in conveying our deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. It is our humble prayer that Almighty God will give you strength, courage and comfort to bear the irreparable loss. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” it continued.
