Nagaland Chief Minister inaugurates new Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner office

Dimapur, April 29 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio inaugurated the newly constructed Deputy Commissioner office complex in Mokokchung on Friday.

Rio expressed satisfaction with the design and workmanship of the new DC office, which he said was possible because of joint efforts.

While acknowledging the land owner for generous donating the land for the facility, the CM said the citizens should give land to the government for development as land and its resources in Nagaland belong to the people, unlike in other parts of the country.

Rio said that most of the government buildings in the state need to be replaced as they were constructed right after the attainment of statehood, adding that other districts should also come up with architecture like the one in Mokokchung, when their turn comes.

Terming the Administration and Police departments as two of the most important departments, he urged the two sectors to build good relationship.

Rio said the first duty of the district administration is to keep and maintain a good relationship with the people to make the administration smooth, while urging the people to support and co-operate with the district administration for all-round development as administration alone cannot function.

Short speeches were delivered by Minister, Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir; Advisor, CAWD & NSDMA, Kazheto Kinimi; Commissioner, Nagaland, Rovilatuo Mor; and Kichu Clan, Mokokchung village, on behalf of land owners.

The programme was chaired by DC Mokokchung, ShashankPratap Singh and vote of thanks proposed by EAC (HQ), ImtinunglaLongkumer, while dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Rev. TemsuwatiKichu, Associate Pastor MTBA.

Dignitaries including Minister PWD (Housing & Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum; Advisor, Industries & Commerce and NIDC, Imnatiba; Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports, Zale Neikha; and SP Mokokchung attended the programme.
