Nagaland braces for heavy rains, thunderstorms

DIMAPUR — The Regional Meteorological Centre in Guwahati has warned of heavy rains and thunderstorms for Nagaland from June 28 to July 4.

From June 28 to June 29, moderate rain and thundershowers are expected in most areas, with thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rain likely in isolated places.

Similar conditions are forecast from June 29 to June 30, with moderate rain and thundershowers in most areas and isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rain.

From June 30 to July 1, moderate rain and thundershowers are expected in most areas, with heavy rain likely in isolated places.

The forecast for July 1 to July 2 also predicts moderate rain and thundershowers in most areas, with heavy rain likely in isolated places.

For the period from July 2 to July 4, no significant change in the weather is expected.

Kohima: Kohima will experience generally cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers from June 28 to June 29, with temperatures ranging from 17°C to 27°C on June 28 and from 18°C to 26°C on June 29.

Similar conditions will persist on June 30, with temperatures between 18°C and 26°C, though the number of spells of rain or thundershowers will increase.

From July 1 to July 2, the weather will continue with generally cloudy skies and one or two spells of rain or thundershowers, with temperatures ranging from 18°C to 26°C. On July 2, rain is expected with temperatures ranging from 18°C to 25°C, continuing into July 3 with temperatures ranging from 17°C to 25°C.

Dimapur: Dimapur is expected to have generally cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers from June 28 to June 29, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 34°C on June 28 and June 29.

On June 30, the weather will remain generally cloudy with a few spells of rain or thundershowers, and temperatures will range from 25°C to 33°C.

From July 1 to July 2, the forecast includes generally cloudy skies with a few spells of rain or thundershowers, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 32°C. On July 2, rain or thundershowers are expected with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 32°C, continuing into July 3 with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 31°C.

Mokokchung: Mokokchung will have generally cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers from June 28 to June 29, with temperatures from 21°C to 30°C on June 28 and from 22°C to 29°C on June 29.
