Nagaland: BJP Mokokchung ST morcha conducts cleanliness drive

Dimapur, Aug. 15 (EMN): Commemorating the 75th India’s Independence Day celebration, the ST morcha of BJP Mokokchung district conducted a ‘Swaach Bharat Abhiyan’ (cleanliness drive) at Imkongmeren Sports Complex in Mokokchung town on August 12.

The cleanliness drive was led by president of BJP Mokokchung ST morcha, Oyimpong Longchar, and vice president, Lanuchiba Aier.

An update from BJP Mokokchung media and IT cell stated that apart from the ST morcha karyakartas, the cleanliness drive was also joined by karyakartas from the mahila morcha and yuva morcha of 25 Mongoya mandal. It added that the minority morcha, besides taking part in the cleanliness drive, provided refreshments to all those who participated in the social work.

Earlier in the day, the ST morcha, as a tribute to the freedom fighters and national leaders, sang the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ at the BJP office, Mokokchung.

It stated that the cleanliness drive was part of a series of activities to be undertaken within the next few days till August 15. It informed that ST morcha would distribute the Tiranga (national flag) to prominent senior citizens and also hoist the Tiranga in each individual house.

Meanwhile, the ST morcha president, Oyimpong Longchar, has expressed gratitude to all the karyakartas especially from the mahila morcha and yuva morcha of 25 Mongoya mandal and minority morcha for their support in making the programmes a grand success.

In another programme, the yuva morcha of BJP Mokokchung district undertook a motorcycle rally on August 13. The rally was led by yuva president, Longsaakum Longkumer.
