Dimapur, Dec. 3 (EMN):
A badminton stadium at Chekiye village was inaugurated by the Minister of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Jacob Zhimomi on Saturday.
The stadium was constructed by the Achiku Mugo Society with the help of various donors and well wishers.
During the inauguration, Zhimomi said Nagas are doing better in sports and many infrastructural facilities are also coming up. He reiterated that with the newly recognised districts, development will take place slowly.

He asked the citizens to make sports their profession and not just a hobby, while assuring that the government is also ‘trying’.
He stated that there is no development in Nagaland mainly because there is excess employment in the government sector and ‘all the money goes to paying salaries’; meanwhile there is no source of revenue generation in the state, adding that Nagaland is hundred percent dependent on the government of India.
He further stressed that youths are the greatest assets of the country, and it is not about how many degrees one has, but how one finds a way to contribute to the society through their skills.
He also shared that one needs to look into their own per capita income and learn to save their economy. He asked the people not to look for ‘overnight profit’ but introspect on their own lifestyle because no one would want to partner with such persons for business.
