Nagaland Athletics Association celebrated National Javelin Day in Dimapur with a youth competition honouring Neeraj Chopra’s Olympic gold medal.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA), under the aegis of the Athletics Federation of India, commemorated the 4th National Javelin Day on Thursday at Pilgrim Higher Secondary, Dimapur, to honour Neeraj Chopra’s gold medal for India at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
The celebration was marked by organising a javelin throw competition for Under-14 and Under-16 boys and girls. A press release stated that a total of 50 athletes participated in the competition.

The winners in the Under-14 Boys category were Isuka Awomi in 1st place, Tunavi S Zhimomi in 2nd, and Ilopu K Khujumi in 3rd. In the Under-14 Girls category, Lhingdeihoi Lhingde secured 1st place, followed by Tilu Pojar in 2nd, and Kensosha Kensosha in 3rd.
For the Under-16 Boys, Atoki Swu took 1st place, Tovi S Chopy came 2nd, and Tsungroshan Kithan was 3rd. In the Under-16 Girls category, Afili Yeptho achieved 1st place, Veideikim Hangsing was 2nd, and Leona P Yeptho placed 3rd.
