Nagaland: All Sumi Students’ Union assembly restores executive council
Dimapur, Aug. 26 (EMN): The union assembly of the All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) has unanimously resolved to restore its executive council with immediate effect for all normal and official transaction.
A press release issued by SKK assembly speaker, Ninoto H Chophi, stated that the twelve units of seventeen units present in the assembly have endorsed the restoration of the executive council with consensus opinion and to work towards strengthening the image and integrity of SKK.
He added that the advisory board and the working committee, which was formed to carry out the powers and functions of SKK during the absence of the executive council, have been dissolved following the restoration order.
The assembly speaker also informed that a one-month suspension order dated July 13, 2022, of its president, Katho P Awomi, has been revoked following the expiry of the suspension period and reinstated to his former position.
As suggested by the union assembly, the house decided to appoint addition of two or more persons as tribunal members to deal with any elements confronting the aspiration of the SKK. The appointment of the additional members has been endorsed to the executive council, the release added.
