Dimapur, Aug. 9 (EMN): Office of the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Chiephobozou, along with other line departments organised a block-level sensitisation programme on Poshan Abhiyan (National Nutrition Mission) and IEC advocacy campaign at Chiechama village on August 7.

Delivering a keynote address, CDPO Chiephobozou Anyile Khamo highlighted that Poshan Abhiyaan is aimed at holistic nourishment to strengthen and harmonise action for nutrition and reduce the nutrition gap in India.

She stressed on the target groups, its objective, and ways to achieve its objective. She also stressed on monitoring and reporting from the grassroots by Anganwadi workers.

Samuel Thyng, SDO Civil, Chiephobozou, also highlighted on the importance of community health for a vibrant society. He has sought concerted efforts from all line departments to address the issue. Besides, he also sought the involvement of community to achieve the target and make the mission a success.

Tokali, staff nurse of Chiephobozou, stressed on the importance of ante-natal care, exclusive breast feeding and timely immunisation. Stating that there are various facilities available in the department, she urged the community to avail the services provided by the health centres.

Vidilhounuo Solo, District Co-ordinator, spoke on the scheme available under PMMVY. She said under the scheme maternity benefit is provided by the government and cash incentive is provided to pregnant and lactating mothers.

The programme was chaired by Agatha (SAA), while the invocation was pronounced by Dieliepu-u and the vote of thanks was delivered by Lanuakum Walling, senior supervisor.
