Dimapur, Feb. 1 (EMN): Nagaland unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has ridiculed what it described as Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ‘hypocrisy’ in which Ram Madhav had refused to accept the signature of Kheto, former minister and prominent member of BJP who was authorised by the president to attend the all party meet called by Core Committee of Nagaland Tribal Hohos and Civil Organisation at Hotel Japfu.
AAP convenor Dr. S Amos Longkumer stated that Kheto, who is a Naga by blood, understands the pain of fellow Nagas who are longing for solutions to the decades old problem. He has also hit out at Ram Madhav for his ‘election for solution’ utterance. Stating that such type of mindset cannot be trusted, Amos reiterated that solution is must before the election.
He has accused BJP of insincerity in solving the complex Naga issue but rather interested in installing its government with the help of NPF, which had championed the Naga issue for the last 6 decades.
AAP appealed one and all to understand how the Nagas are being fooled by those leaders to divert attention of the people from corruption which they practice together. AAP stated that it is now for the people of Nagaland to decide whether to suffer for another five years or bring an end to the suffering.
Also pointing out that the state assembly had passed a resolution on December 15, 2017, for solution to the Naga political issues before the general election, AAP felt that Election Commission should have taken the views of the legislators before declaring election for Nagaland. It further accused the Election Commission of violating the democratic rights of Nagaland.
