Municipal affairs department organises competition for students

Kohima, Nov.1 (EMN): The department of Municipal Affairs under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) — housing for all — conducted a one-day painting and essay writing competitions on “Angikaar- A campaign for change management” on Friday.

The painting competition was conducted for primary school students at Kohima Municipal Council hall, while an essay writing competition was conducted for higher secondary school students in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima. The topic for both the competition was on “Healthy living.”

Speaking to reporters, an official informed that declaration of results award ceremony would be held on December 10 with the culmination of the campaign.

Keneingulie Zhasa, MIS Specialist Municipal Affairs, informed the media persons that “Angikaar” is a campaign to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He added that the campaign would also create awareness through series of information, education activities engaging for change management.
