Multi-facility health institute for Moayimti village

Mokokchung district is to get a premier multi-facility health institute within a span of few years if things go as planned. The foundation stone of a multi-facility healthcare was dedicated by Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya on Friday in the presence of a host of dignitaries from the state government of Nagaland and civil organizations.
The health institute is to be called Beth Shalom Diagnostics, Multispecialty and Research Centre which is a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of the REM Group. The centre will be in Moayimti village, a village located about seventy kilometres away from Mokokchung headquarter. After the unveiling ceremony, the governor was escorted to the reception to address the people at Longtho. Managing Director & Chairman of REM Group, Temjen Imna Along Lkr, while speaking with media persons after the sidelines of programme, disclosed that the REM Group was a group of six companies based in different cities and countries such as Singapore, Delhi, Mumbai, Dimapur etc. He said that ‘Beth Shalom Diagnostics, Multispecialty and Research Centre’ will be completed within the next three years. It will be 150-bed multispecialty institute, with separate male and female wards and at least thirty cabins, he said.
Temjen Imna Along also disclosed that the healthcare centre is a corporate responsibility initiative of REM Group under which the group undertakes social activities such as cleanliness drives (under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan), and even offers career counselling, among others. Under the Swachh Bharat Abjiyan, Beth Shalom has covered thirty four villages, and expects to cover all the villages under Mokokchung district by next year, he said. “We want to make Mokokchung as the cleanest district in India…” said Temjen Imna while speaking about the SBA.
Meanwhile the governor also handed over awards to the best-constructed community toilets, community footsteps, and community retaining walls undertaken as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission campaign.
