Mishilimi Union Kohima (MUK) has strongly condemned the rash and negligent driving of an unknown driver of one of the Kohima passenger mini buses for grievously injuring a 13 year old boy Vikugha Sheqi, son of Hotokhu Sheqi and student of Class VIII of Naga Bazaar Baptist School, on the evening of February 25 at Kezielie Tata Mobile Parking. The Union president, Toniho Sheqi said the incident happened when Vikugha and his three friends were crossing the Tata Mobile Parking when all of a sudden a speeding mini bus crushed him against a stationary truck by inflicting grievous injuries in the stomach and body. It was reported that the presence of his two friends saved his head from hitting the black topped road. It said the driver drove off without even stopping.
Vikugha has been admitted to the Oking Hospital, Kohima, the same night in an unconscious state, adding one of his vital organs was removed due to excess internal injury on February 26.
Meanwhile, the Union has urged the police to conduct thorough investigation and nab the absconding driver of the mini bus, while it also requested the bus owner to assist the investigation in handing over the driver to the police at the earliest.
