Dimapur, Sep. 30 (EMN): Medziphema Town Mechü Krotho (MTMK) has affirmed support to the proposed shifting of DC’s office, Dimapur, to Chümoukedima as resolved unanimously during the last joint public meeting called by MTMK with all different tribal unions of Medziphema town on September 11.
MTMK stated that shifting of DC’s office to Chümoukedima was a long-felt desire of the people, an update from MTMK president, Akhoto Kuotsu, and the general secretary, Thejangukho Yalietsu, stated in a joint press statement. It reasoned that shifting of DC’s office would ease traffic congestion replete with upgraded infrastructural complex and staff residences, spacious and healthy environment as well as easy accessibility for upper villages under Medziphema subdivision.
The organisation further expressed resentment against those CSOs who, without valid reasons, have been trying to destabilise the shifting process and appealed to all right-thinking citizens to show their solidarity on the government’s order for shifting of DC Office to Chümoukedima in a phased manner.
The MTMK also denounced the “shutter down” which partially affected some pockets of Dimapur district on September 30 spearheaded by few CSOs.
It further informed that Medziphema town would not be able to abide by such haphazard action plans, which has no mandate and consensus from the general populace.
