More than 200 teens get first dose of vaccine

Kohima/ Dimapur, Jan. 4 (EMN): As many as 225 doses of Covaxin were administered in Nagaland on the first day of the Covid vaccination drive for the 15 to 18 age group held on Monday.

According to the data furnished by the department of Health and Family Welfare, a total of 193 doses were administered in Dimapur at six vaccination sites and 32 doses were inoculated in three sessions in Kohima.

Meanwhile, as many as 13, 35, 993 doses of vaccines — Covishield and Sputnik V — were administered to the people in the state till January 3.

With these, the total number of vaccines administered in the state stands at 13, 36, 668 doses.

The Health department also updated that a total of 13, 29, 636 doses of Covishield had been administered, out of which 7, 56, 180 were the first dose and 5,73, 456 the second dose.

A total of 6357 doses of Sputnik V have been administered wherein 3, 464 were first dose and 2, 893 were second dose, according to the latest update.

The breakup of those inoculated revealed that 16, 005 healthcare workers (HCWs) have received first dose and 13, 541 second dose of Covishield; 60, 985 frontline workers (FLW) have received first dose and 48, 613 second dose of Covishield, but no records of Sputnik V jab among the HCWs and FLWs.

In the category of 45 years and above, 2, 13, 354 have received the first dose and 1, 78, 326 have taken the second dose of Covishield; 753 have taken the first dose and 700 the second dose of Sputnik V.

In the 18 to 44 years category, 4, 65, 863 have received the first dose, and 3, 32, 976 are vaccinated with the second dose of Covishield, while 2, 711 have taken the first dose and 2, 193 the second dose of Sputnik V.

Four fresh Covid cases reported

Nagaland recorded four fresh Covid-19 positive cases on Tuesday, taking the tally to 32, 210 and active caseload to 62.

The state’s cumulative recoveries increased to 30,375 with recuperation of two patients while the death toll remained unchanged at 686 with no fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, all the four fresh cases were reported in Dimapur, while one each patient in Dimapur and Mokokchung recovered.

Out of the 62 active cases in the state, 48 are asymptomatic, 13 mild, and one severe on oxygen.

In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 60, and one each in Kohima and Mokokchung, while the rest of the districts are currently Covid-free.
