NTC: Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has condoled the demise of NSCN (IM) Yaruiwo, Isak Chishi Swu, who breathed his last on June 28. NTC information secretary, Theja Therie, has described late Isak Chishi Swu as one of the tallest Naga leaders who had dedicated all his life for the cause of Naga aspiration. He lamented that his death has created a vacuum which would be difficult to fill for a long time to come. NTC has prayed to the Almighty God to grant solace and comfort to the dear and near ones. It has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.

ZRO: Zomi Re-Unification Organisation, while mourning the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, said he remained faithful for the cause till his last breath adding his undaunted commitment for the emancipation of the Nagas and deep concern for the political survival of other indigenous people in Northeast India, particularly the tribals of Manipur (hill areas) was unparallel in the history of revolutionary movement in the region. It said his demise was a loss for the Nagas and other revolutionary organizations in Northeast region. It expressed hope that Naga leaders stood firm in the cause he died for. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.Azo Nienu: MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu has mourned the demise of Isak Chishi Swu saying his death was a loss to the Nagas and the void created by his death would be difficult to fill. Describing him as a father to the Nagas, a patriotic Naga freedom fighter till his last breath, Azo said Isak Chishi would remain a source of inspiration and encouragement to all. He further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.

Imkong L Imchen: MLA Imkong L Imchen has eulogized Isak Chishi Swu as one of the few early educated Nagas who dedicated their lives for the cause of Naga nation during the 1950s. He said his true patriotism blended with faith in God had steered well many difficult situations and given the biggest hope to the Naga political solution as chairman of NSCN (IM). He said the famous Framework Agreement of the Naga political issue signed on August 3, 2015 with the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi was by no means a small achievement. While the Nagas are eagerly waiting for the final settlement, he lamented that the revolutionary patriotic life of Isak Chishi was cut short by the cruel destiny. He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prated for the eternal rest of the departed soul.

DCCI: Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) lamented that Nagas have lost an outstanding personality and a prominent Naga national movement leader in the death of Isak Chishi Swu. It said Isak was a person of deep faith and great courage who entirely devoted himself for the Naga movement especially, NSCN (IM) which he inspired and founded along with others for the cause of establishing the inherent rights of Naga people. It said the memory of his patriotic leadership would remain a source of inspiration and encouragement to all his comrades, national workers and the Naga populace. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.

TPO: Tenyimi Peoples’ Organisation (TPO) said the demise of Isak Chishi Swu at this juncture was “heart wrenching” as it is a time Naga people needed him the most. TPO said he ‘stands tallest as one of the Naga leaders who had given everything for the cause of the Nagas to live as a people – unwavering in his ideology and god fearing in his approach.’
TPO offered prayers that the departed leader might find eternal peace and that the Almighty grant solace and mitigate the grief of the family members, kith and kin and all close associates. TPO further wished that his legacy remain as that of a life spent fully committed to the cause of the people, steadfast and undaunted in the struggles so that people might find inspiration from his life.

TUD: Tenyimi Union Dimapur has mourned the demise of Isak Chishi Swu and said in his death Nagas have lost a towering leader who never compromised his political ideology. TUD has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty God to grant them solace in their hour of grief. It also prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.

WYH: Western Yimchungru HoHo (WYH), while condoling the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, said his contributions to the cause of Naga political movement would always be cherished by people in the days to come. The Hoho thanked him for bringing the cause of Naga struggle thus far. It further said his effort for peace and unity would not be in vain but the younger generation would follow his footstep for reconciliation and maintain strong bond among the Nagas brothers. WYH also conveyed condolence to the family members and fraternity of NSCN/ GPRN.

ZPON: Zeliang People Organisation Nagaland has mourned the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, who had given his entire life for the cause of Nagas. ZPON, while paying rich tributes and salute to the departed soul, conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.

PPC: Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC) expressed profound sorrow at the demise of Isak Chishi Swu who breathed his last on June 28 in Delhi completing his sincere and fruitful services for the Naga cause. It said in his death, the Nagas have lost a good and sincere leader, adding the people of Phom would fondly remember him.
PPC prayed to the Almighty God to grant peace and strength to the bereaved family member and peace to the departed soul.

DDGBA: Dimapur District GBs Association attributed Isak Chishi Swu, as a real patriot, who dedicated entire life in the Naga freedom struggle till his dead on June 28. DDGBA saluted the great son of the soil and prayed for his departed soul to rest in peace.

NCSU: Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) has eulogised Isak Chishi Swu under whose his leadership Government of India recognised the uniqueness of Nagas. Stating that he had fought a good fight, NCSU saluted him for his endurance till his last breath.
NCSU also lamented that in his death, Nagas have lost a dynamic leader and the vacuum created by him could never be filled. It however said his legacy would remain with us. The Union further conveyed condolence to bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty God to grant solace and strength and also peace to the departed soul.

Naga Council: Naga Council Dimapur has expressed sadness on the passing away of Isak Chishi Swu and said a vacuum has been created by his death. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

ENPO: Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO), in condoling the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, remembered and thanked him for taking the Naga cause to such a higher level devoting his entire life. It said ENPO would always cherish the memory of his sincere dedication for the Nagas as a leader. It expressed sadness that in his death, Nagas have lost a visionary, devoted and great leader. ENPO further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members as they struggle through the grief and sadness and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

NMA: Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) has mourned the demise of Isak Chishi Swu. It described him as a leader totally committed to the Naga cause of freedom and lived strictly by his steadfast faith in God and the right of the Naga people. Calling him a man of principle, humble and soft spoken, it said Swu spent his entire life for the nation. It lamented that his demise at this critical time has left a void which could never be filled.
NMA conveyed condolences to late Swu’s wife, who has been as committed to him and the Naga nation and never left his side, to the bereaved family, the Secretary NSCN (IM) Th. Muivah, who had been Swu’s closest friend, and all rank and file of the organisation. The association also offered prayers to the Almighty for solace and faith and eternal peace to the departed soul.

KU: Konyak Union (KU), while mourning the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, said he was not only a nationalist leader but a pioneer of education far beyond the border and also a true missionary in winning many souls to Christ. It said he had left the Nagas with a lesson on “faithfulness, commitment and devotion.” In lamenting the loss of a Naga leader, the Konyak community has extended condolence to the bereaved family.

Mao Council: Mao Council said Isak Chishi Swu was a long standing Naga nationalist, who made tremendous positive and crucial contributions to the founding and development of the Naga freedom struggle. It said his death was a loss not only for his family but for the Naga people and for all freedom loving people at large. It described Isak Chishi as an exceptional person who was driven with passion and determination for freedom and human dignity of the Naga people. Though he might be gone, it said his spirit of unwavering resistance would live in the minds and hearts of the people. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.

SPFDD: Sangtam Peoples’ Forum Dimapur District has shared grief with the people of Nagaland at the lost of its leader Isak Chishi Swu, who sacrificed his entire life for the cause of the Naga nation. It said Isak Chishi would be remembered as a selfless, God fearing and a leader with conviction. The Forum has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.

SOUN: Sumi Officers’ Union Nagaland (SOUN), in condoling the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, said he devoted his entire life for the cause of the Naga political rights and led the Naga national movement at different levels and forums thereby enduring untold hardships and sufferings in his effort to assert the political rights of the Nagas. It also described Isak Chishi Swu as a God fearing person and a man of vision who had a big dream for the Nagas. It lamented that his demise was a huge loss not only to the Sumi people but to the entire Naga people. SOUN conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty to grant them strength and solace in their hour of grief. It has also prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.

DPON: Dimasa Public Organisation, Nagaland (DPON) has condoled the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, who breathed his last on June 28. It said his death was a great lost to the entire people of Nagaland as well as in the north east. DPON conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for departed soul to rest in peace.

NPC: Nagaland Peace Centre, Kohima, has mourned the demise of Isak Chishi Swu after a prolonged illness. It lamented that Nagas have lost a visionary leader whose tireless efforts for the cause of Naga sovereignty and integration spoke volumes. It said the vacuum created at his death would be difficult to fill in.

NWHD: Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) expressed sadness on the passing away of Isak Chishi Swu and said his sacrifices would always be a torch in the path to sovereignty. It prayed to the Almighty God to grant solace and comfort the bereaved family members. It further prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.

NFIA: Nagaland Flood and Irrigation Association, while condoling the demise of Isak Chishi Swu said his leadership and accomplishments for the Naga national movement would remain a lasting legacy for all. The Association said it would be almost impossible for any other Naga leader to evolve in the stature of late Isak who devoted his entire life for the cause of Naga people and went through numerous hardships fighting for the cause. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

ANPSA: All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA), Dimapur Unit, while condoling the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, remembered him as one of the most educated and premiere Naga leaders who stood up for the cause of the Naga nation and worked relentlessly for the political and social uplift of the Naga people in different capacities till his last breath. It said his name would be written down in the annals of the Naga history in golden letters.
Meanwhile, it has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.

Kohima Diocese: Diocese of Kohima has mourned the demise of Isak Chishi Swu (87), saying in his death the Naga people have lost a great leader. It hoped and wished that the legacy he has left would evolve into that of lasting peace and reconciliation. Diocese of Kohima and the Catholic community expressed sympathy and conveyed condolence to the bereaved family, Thuingaleng Muivah and others.

NPMHR: Nagaland People’s Movement for Human Rights, in mourning the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, said he was a leader not only of the Naga people as a pioneer of the Naga political movement, but a fatherly figure who is highly respected by the International community and the people and leaders of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organizations, who are all struggling for their rights of self-determination. Regardless of the divisions that have crippled the Naga people and its movement, it said Isak Chishi Swu would continue live in the hearts of all he has inspired.
NPMHR salute Isak Chishi Swu for the leadership he has given and the sacrifices he has made which are unknown to so many people.

K Therie: President of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), K Therie, has condoled the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, who strived throughout his lifetime for Naga sovereignty and instrumental in garnering international support for the noble Naga cause. Therie said late Swu sacrificed his life for the political destiny of the Naga people and was a proponent of reconciliation for which he worked tirelessly. He said Swu was one of a kind leader whose legacy would continue to live on in the annals of history and be remembered for generations to come.
He said the demise of Isak Chishi Swu at this crucial moment has created a huge vacuum adding Naga people would miss him and his guiding force as we continue our quest for a solution to the prolonged Naga issue. He further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members prayed to the Almighty God to comfort and console them in their time of grief.

WSH: Western Sumi Hoho along with its frontal organizations namely Western Sumi Kukami Hoho, Western Sumi Totimi Hoho, Western Sumi Youth Front, Sumi Officers’ Union Dimapur, Western Sumi Students’ Union and Western Sumi Sports’ Association have mourned the sad demise Isak Chishi Swu. It lamented that Nagas have lost a great and visionary leader who sacrificed his entire life to fight for the rights of Naga people. At this hour of grief and sadness, WSH conveyed condolence to the grief stricken family and prayed to the Almighty God to grant them comfort. It also prayed for eternal solace of the departed leader.

NGA: Nagaland Gorkha Association (NGA) lamented that the sad passing away of the NSCN (IM) chairman, Isak Chishi Swu, has left huge vacuum which would be hard to fill in. Nagaland Gorkha Association conveyed its sympathy and paid tribute to the great leader who had sacrificed his entire life for the cause of the Naga nation. It prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

TSUD: Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD), while mourning the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, extolled his lifetime struggle for a brighter future for the youngsters of the Nagas in particular. TSUD has saluted his sacrifices and hoped that the Nagas would emulate his examples and good qualities. It further prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

BAN: Business Association of Nagas (BAN), while condoling the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, said the Nagas today are despaired at the loss as a nation. However, it consoled itself for the ‘message he gave us through his years of living and giving’ which strengthened to move forward as a nation with a common destiny. BAN considered the achievements of the God fearing, noble and patriotic son of Nagas as a great legacy, which is worthy of honour and in this difficult time in the history of the nation. It further solemnly asked for God’s guidance.

Er. Levi: Parliamentary Secretary of PWD (Housing), Er. Levi Rengma said in the death of Isak Chishi Swu, Nagas have lost a leader who had not only dedicated his whole life for the cause of Nagas and for a better future but also a God fearing and true believer of Christ. He said Isak Chishi was a beacon of strength for the Naga cause and wise leader who devoted his energies to the welfare of his people and also a firm believer in promoting peace and unity amongst the Naga brothers and sisters. He hoped the Nagas would remember and fulfill Isak Chishi’s dreams for peace and unity in the land. He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.

DUCCF: Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF), in condoling the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, described him as the true champion for Naga aspiration for freedom who was admired for his endeavour for peace and reconciliation. It said Isak Chishi would be remembered as a God fearing man who sacrificed his whole life for the Naga nation keeping God first. It further prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

GSUNZ: Garo Students’ Union Nagaland Zone (GSUNZ), in condoling the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, said the sacrifice he had made for the nation would be remembered and cherished by the generations to come. The union has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.

DGEF: Dimapur Gorkha Elders’ Forum said the demise of Isak Chishi Swu was a great loss to the Nagas in particular and others in general. It conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.

ZCNEI: Zeme Council Northeast India (ZCNEI) remembered Isak Chishi Swu as a remarkable leader who served and sacrificed his whole life for the Naga nation. The Council president, Raitu Elu has termed his death is a loss for the Nagas adding that his legacy would live on forever among the Nagas. It has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

DFoN: Dream Foundation of Nagaland (DFoN), while mourning the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, has described him as a leader of distinct qualities who led the Naga people as a true patriot and a leader who made lifelong sacrifice for the cause for the right of Naga people. It said his selfless sacrifice for the cause of the Nagas would be remembered and cherished in the days to come. DFoN has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

BSS: Members of Bharat Sevashram Sangha (BSS), Dimapur Branch, Dimapur, has mourned the sad and unexpected demise of Isak Chishi Swu. BSS has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and further prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.\

CPDM: Campaign for Peace & Democracy Manipur (CPDM) paid rich tribute to the chairman of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (IM), late Isak Chishi Swu, describing him as one of the leaders in Northeast India who have stood firmly for the cause of a political ideology and one who had dedicated fully to unite his people to achieve higher level of independence and progress. CPDM described him as a tall figure in the post 1947 Naga resistance movement, on whose footprints many Nagas would still continue to strive for brighter future. It said his untimely demise had shocked many who would be missed in crucial times of Nagas’ march towards unity and the struggle for a brighter collective future in the Northeast region. CPDM has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.

RCUN: Railway Contractors Union Nagaland (RCUN) has expressed pain over the demise of late Isak Chishi Swu, an upright leader of Naga people. The Union described Isak Chishi Swu as a man of principle, soft spoken and God fearing who had sacrificed his life for the cause of Naga people. It lamented that on his death, Naga people have lost a true Naga leaders. Union further conveyed condolence to the family members of bereaved family and prayed that God give them comfort in their hour of grief and sorrow.

Loli Kape: Former village council chairman of Makhel village, M Loli Kape, Has described late Isak Chishi Swu as a man of principle and a visionary leader in Naga politics who had sacrificed and worked tirelessly for peace, unity amongst the Nagas and fought in defence of Naga cause. He has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

BJYM: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Nagaland State unit said the demise of Isak Chishi Swu has come as a shock to the people and left a vacuum in the society. BJYM said late Isak Chishi Swu sacrificed his whole life for the people adding his dedication towards the Naga cause would always be remembered by all.

AYO: The Angami Youth Organization (AYO) has also expressed sadness over the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, president/chairman of NSCN/GPRN.
“AYO reminisces and richly acknowledges the contributions made by Swu towards the Naga struggle for self determination and dignities, who till the last resource of his strength, truly and unwaveringly represented the Naga cause at all conditions and forums,” the organization stated in a condolence message today.
Pointing out that late Swu was a personality who has successfully lived through with his calls and responsibilities, AYO stated that in his demise, the Nagas are bereaved of a man who had lived exceedingly well and inspired many with altruistic ideals. It hoped that the sacrifices of late Swu would inspire and guide the Nagas to overcome their “bickering differences to waver on together to build a strong Naga nation”.
“In this time of loss, AYO, with grieving hearts, join in sharing the sorrow with the bereaved family, and pray that God the Almighty grant solace, courage and vision to all the near and dear ones of late Isak Swu,” AYO added.

NSCA: The Nagaland Senior Citizens’ Association (NSCA) has expressed profound grief over learning of the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, chairman NSCN (IM) at Delhi on June 28.
“At this hour of sorrow, bereavement and lost of our tall and unmatchable leader we sincerely salute him and honour him for his exceptional and positivity in executing the 3rd August “Frame Work Agreement” with the Government of India at Prime Minister Level,” the association stated.
It expressed hope that the half-done mission of the late Isak would be achieved through the concerted efforts of all the Nagas so that his labour is not wasted in vain but realized for the future generations to enjoy its fruits in God’s appointed time.
“In his death, the Nagas have lost a peace warrior, soul winner and a great patriot for which the nation shall ever remember him. May his soul rest in peace in eternal place. We also sincerely pray that the almighty God grant good health, and courage to withstand the bereavement and loss of a precious life in the person of late Isak Chishi Swu,” the NSCA condolence read.

AIFFSON: All India Freedom Fighters & Successors’ Organisation Nagaland unit also conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family of the departed legendary leader Isak Chishi Swu. Describing the late Swu a someone who has relentlessly worked to bring solution to Nagaland and a man who has sacrificed and spent his lifetime for the Naga national cause, the organization stated that Swu would always remain as an inspiration to all.

NPF Youth Wing: The NPF Central Youth Wing has expressed shock to hear of the demise of one of the tallest leaders, Isak Chishi Swu, Yaruiwo of NSCN (IM).
The media cell of the youth wing in a condolence message today recalled late Isak Chishi Swu as a man “respected by one and all, dynamic, humble and God’s commissioned leader” who has sacrificed his everything for the Naga nation for a better tomorrow. “Dearest Yaruiwo, today we stand to proclaim that we, the Central Youth Wing will always treasure your sacrificial deeds for building our Naga Nation thus far. And pray that, God Almighty will answer your prayer for the Nagas to live as a respected nation-people in this world,” the message stated.
While conveying its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members, the youth wing also offered prayers to God to grant them solace and comfort at such time of grief and sorrow.
