Mokokchung administration allows movement of essential goods

Mokokchung, May 11 (EMN): Mokokchung district administration has, in partial modification of an earlier order, allowed movement of essential goods carriers/trucks—whether loaded or empty—to cross the inter-state gates.

In the previous order, it had banned all vehicular movements, without any exception.

However, under this new arrangement, essential goods carriers/trucks, whether loaded or empty, will be allowed to cross the inter-state gates at Tsutapela and Watiyongpang from 5 pm to 11 pm.

All vehicles carrying essential commodities and goods and its occupants, the driver and the helper, will have to undergo strict medical screening including disinfection of the vehicles at the check gates, according to the new order.

In another order, the district administration has announced that timing for marketing in Mokokchung town would be from 9 am to 3 pm on the days markets are allowed to open, until further order.

Violators would be punished under section 188 of IPC, it warned.
