The Kiphire branch of IRCS held Junior/Youth Red Cross Society Painting Competition prize distribution programme under the theme “Through Humanity to People” on Tuesday.DC and Chairman, IRCS Kiphire branch, Kesonyu Yhome while addressing the programme said the operative part of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) movement is service to humanity and nation-building voluntarily.
Stating that the movement is all about voluntary service to the humanity, he said the IRCS and the government will not force any one to join the movement unless the people come forward.
The agenda of the day’s programme was to help develop and mobilize support to the movement among the youth and also to inculcate a sense of voluntary services from the formative years. The DC has invited all the young people of the district to be a part of the positive movement to develop a human and peaceful society.
Earlier, the key note address on J/YRC movement and its activities in the district was delivered by Lipichem, life member, IRCS. The awards of the painting competition were given away by SDO (C) Lankonsen Lotha.
