Dimapur, May 18 (EMN): ADC & Administrator, Mokokchung Municipal Council, Sachin Jaiswal IAS, has once again reminded all citizens in and around Mokokchung town that dumping waste materials at old MMC dumping zone located at Tsukjongkong, near Ungma village has been prohibited.
Jaiswal also notified that the new MMC dumping zone is located at Sabangkabamenchen 7 Km away from old Mokokchung-Tuensang road junction for MMC dumpers and pickup trucks of the designated wards. Any individual or party who want to throw their garbage in the said dumping zone has been asked to take permission from MMC.
The administrator stated that it has been observed that some unidentified persons have been throwing garbage on the road side before reaching the MMC dumping spot. Therefore, he cautioned that anyone caught doing such illegal practice shall be penalized by the concerned authority.
Jaiswal also informed that no one is allowed to throw death animals in the main dumping zone or dumping boxes located within town. Respective ward authorities have been requested to maintain the standing order of prohibiting dumping of waste materials in open space, drainage and roadsides within their jurisdiction.
