MITE organises national seminar on constructivism

Dimapur, September 2: Research and Development Committee of Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima, conducted a two-day national seminar on ‘Constructivism’ at the College auditorium hall on September 1 and 2.
The seminar began with the inaugural programme chaired by Ms. Kavani Hekha, while the welcome address was delivered by Devanand Sinha, Principal of MITE, and the keynote address was delivered by Dr. Bendangyapangla, Principal, SCTE, Kohima.
Altogether 11 resource persons consisting of research scholars and teaching faculties from various colleges and universities presented their papers. The presentation was put forward in two technical sessions.The first technical session was based on “Conceptual and theoretical knowledge on constructivists approach” chaired by Dr. BV Rao, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Nagaland University, with five presenters. ‘Constructivism Vs behaviorism,’ ‘Role of constructivism in teaching-learning: A theoretical rerspective,’ ‘Role of 5E and 7E constructivists models in Mathematics education’ were some of the topics presented.
In the second technical session, Dr. Gomesh Mosahary, Principal of Sazolie College of Teacher Education, Jotsoma, chaired the session. Topics on ‘Constructivism at school and college level,’ ‘Constructivists approach – A paradigm for teaching and learning at college level,’ Constructivism at school ;evel were delivered during the session.
Representatives from the State College of Teacher Education, Kohima, Nagaland University, and participants from various colleges attended the seminar. The seminar concluded with the valedictory session chaired by Ms. Imkongsenla Longchar, Assistant Professor of MITE. Valedictory remark was delivered by Mrs. Elizabeth Walling, Assistant Professor, SCTE, Kohima, while the Rapporteurs remark was delivered by Daikho Manehrii, Assistant Professor of MITE, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Pelee Hekha, Managing Director of MITE.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director expressed gratitude to everyone for making the seminar a grant success and further wished to conduct more of such seminars in the near future.
