Miscreants vandalise, rob items installed to beautify Dimapur

Dimapur, Sep. 1 (EMN): Some unidentified miscreants have repeatedly vandalised and stolen the decorative items installed at the recently completed parkway opposite Hotel Senti in Dimapur, undoing the efforts of “A Better Dimapur” to clean and beautify the city.
A member of “A Better Dimapur”, an initiative of the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), informed that the parkway was scheduled to be inaugurated on September 4
The parkway, which was earlier a dumping site, has been vandalised thrice.
“We found out on Wednesday when we gathered for a social work, that the water fountain was stolen, motor connection damaged and the steel balls damaged and stolen. This is the third time we found the parkway in this condition and this is the third time we are repairing and replacing them,” members of the team lamented.
The team said that they had come a long way and wouldn’t let such incidents dishearten their mission. They asserted that they would continue to carry out their work and create awareness even if miscreants try to foil their beautification and cleanliness drive in Dimapur.
