Mines and Minerals office inaugurated in Diphu

Diphu, Feb. 9 (EMN): Jogen Mohan, minister for Hills Area Development and Mines and Minerals, govt. of Assam, inaugurated the office of Mines and Minerals department at Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) secretariat old building in the presence of Chief Executive Minister (CEM), KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang on Wednesday.
Inaugurating the office, the minister said that the opening of the office in Diphu has added a new chapter in the history of Karbi Anglong.
‘It can now operate better in mining of minerals and work will be faster. All works will be done here except those, which have to be sent to Guwahati. There will be a district level officer and other staff’, he added.
He also informed that the revenue generated in mining the minerals will be shared between the state government and KAAC.
‘Very soon, the mines and minerals of Karbi Anglong will be legalised so that the government can open tender. Six district level mines and minerals offices have been set up in Dima Hasao, Sibsagar, Tinsukia, Cachar, Jorhat and Diphu’, the minister said.
Ronghang said that the initiative of setting up the office was taken under Jogen Mohen with the guidance and support of the CM.
