Meriema FC, HQ IGAR (N) and Adroit Boyz move ahead

Meriema Football Club, HQ IGAR (N) and Adroit Boyz, Sechü Zubza moved ahead defeating their respective rivals of the three matches played on the third-day of the Classic Cup at Kohima Local Ground.
In the first match, Meriema FC defeated Ablaze FC by 7-6 via tie-breaker as they were locked in 3-3 draw during the stipulated 70 minutes play.
Ablaze opened the account through Namsi in the 7th minute, while he scored the second in the 21st minute. However, Kevingulie helped Meriema to minimize the margin by a goal in the 26th minute. Ablaze FC managed to increase the margin with the third goal scored by Beselhu in the 32nd minute which was again brought down with Meriema finding their second goal through Petevizo, a minute before the lemon-break.
After the lemon break, neither side managed to surpass into the rival nets but eight minutes before the final whistle Neiphrezolie helped Meriema FC to find the much anticipated equalizer (3-3) and wind up the stipulated time in a draw.
The tie-breaker favoured Meriema FC as four of their shooters managed to beat rival custodian while Ablaze managed only three. In the second match, HQ IGAR (N) defeated Hilly Boys United FC by 3-1.
Surjit Singh of HQ IGAR (N) scored the first goal in the 18th minute supported by Demo’s second in the 21st minute. Hilly Boyz UFC managed to minimize with a score through Vimelie in the 34th minute, but Demo sealed the score board in the 70th minute.
Playing the last match of the day, Adroit Boyz Sechü Zubza defeated Chedema FC by 4-1.
Both sides failed to find the rival nets till the first 35 minutes; but four minutes into the breather, substitute player Khriesi Vimerha opened the account for Adroit Boyz. He was penalized with a yellow card for foul play in the 43rd minute. Two minutes later, Megovibei gave the team the second lead while Khriesi scored the third goal in the 56th minute.
It was in the 61st minute that Chedema FC tried to return to the game scoring a goal through Kikrusalie. Nonetheless, Khriesi sealed the score board with his hat-trick and fourth for the team in the injury added time.
