Over 100 participants from different parts of the country, including Meghalaya, Assam, Delhi and Bangalore are participating in the three-day 5th Horsepower Challenge (Autocross and Supercross).
Organised by Nagaland Adventure Club (NAC) and supported by Department of Youth Resources and Sports, the event inaugurated this morning by Commissioner & Secretary for Youth Resources & Sports, Menukhol John is being held at NFA ground Meriema, Kohima.Addressing the participants from across the country, Menukhol lamented that road manners and traffic regulations are vanishing from the Naga society as vehicle users do not bother for fellow drivers and pedestrians.
He therefore called upon drivers to contribute towards the setting a new trend in society by respecting each other and follow the good on road courtesy. He also appealed them to compete in true sportsmanship spirit. Menukhol also flagged off the challenge.
NAC member Paul Rutsa gave the introductory speech while Pastor Ketou said the invocation and a special number was presented by Purkumzuk Ao.
On the first day, Autocross for four wheelers and 4X4 Off Road (selection rounds) were held today. On Friday, Autocross finals and Motorcross selection round will be held from 10:00 am. Motorcross and 4X4 Off Road Final will be held on Saturday.
