MDFA Trophy: SSS Yellow and FC Young Boys win

Mokokchung, Oct. 11 (EMN): SSS Yellow grabbed a 3-1 triumph over SSS Blue and FC Young Boys hammered Sungkomen FC 3-0 in the ongoing MDFA Trophy league round at Imkongmeren Sports Complex in Mokokchung on Friday.
Midfielder Temjenmeren’s hat-trick for SSS Yellow put SSS Blue in a backseat despite opening its account first just 6 minutes into the game.
SSS Yellow first conceded a goal to SSS Blue through the boots of Longsemtong in the 6th minute but it was short-lived as SSS Yellow found an equaliser in Temjenmeren within 4 minutes.
Temjenmeren double the score line for SSS Yellow in the 18th minutes before completing a hat-trick in the 45th minute.
Chubanungsang and Imtisunep of SSS Blue were booked with yellow card in 30th and 58th minutes respectively during the game.
In the second match of the day, Tongpangmeren, Nephivile and Tianuksung sealed the game for FC Young Boys by scoring a goal apiece in the clash with Sungkomen FC.
Tongpangmeren converted a penalty kick into a goal in the 24th minute to put FC Young Boys ahead. They continued to maintain possession and resorted to attacking game after the break.
FC Young Boys increased their lead in the 42nd minute when Nephivile found himself an opportunity inside the box. His first attempt was blocked by the Sungkomen’s goalkeeper but the deflected ball came back to him, which he finished off with his swift left-foot.
Tianuksung added one more goal to FC Young Boys’ score line by scoring in the 66th minute.
Watitemsu of Sungkomen was awarded a yellow card during the match.
