MDFA: NUSU thrash Unicorn FC 4-0; lame draw for Alempang YD and Hills XI FC

Mokokchung, Oct. 2 (EMN): Alempang YD and Hills XI FC played out a grim 1-1 draw while NUSU Football Team had no trouble thrashing Unicorn FC 4-0 in the ongoing MDFA Trophy at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex in Mokokchung on Wednesday, October 2.

In a disappointing encounter, defender Imtiwati gave Hills the lead in the 60th minute, however, Alempang equalised just before the final hour of the game courtesy of midfielder Imkongyanger’s cool finish in the 69th minute to end the game 1-1. Imtiwati of Hills was awarded a yellow card during the match.

Unicorn FC had an awful start in their first match in the competitive tournament after being thrashed 0-4 by NUSU Football Team in the second match.

Striker Temsakum’s stunning 18th minute shot gave NUSU a lead early in the match and ended the first half with another strike from Chetsho Lasuh in the 35th minutes to make it 2-0.

After the break NUSU again turned their dominance for more goals and it didn’t take much time for Temsakum to find the net again in the 45th minute. Imlikokba of NUSU made it 4-0 after a fine shot in the 56th minute.

Unicorn held out till the end but failed to create clear chances for a consolation goal. Imlitemsu of Unicorn FC and K Ngamkang NUSU Football Team received a yellow card in the match.
