Dimapur, Dec. 4 (EMN): Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) celebrated its annual award ceremony-cum-Advent Christmas on December 3 at the college premise with Moa Jamir, youth pastor of Yimyu Baptist Church, as the speaker on the theme “The perfect gift.”

Speaking on the occasion, Jamir said, “As God created us in His own image, God’s love is written in John 3:16 of the Bible.” According to him, the Bible has three criteria for the perfect gift: the gift should reflect the one who gives, knowledge of the one who receives it, and should have sustained value over time.

As God has gifted the greatest gift with his deepest love, he encouraged the gathering to celebrate Christmas by understanding the perfect gift with God as they welcome the birth of Jesus Christ.

An update from the college informed that the meritorious awards (university toppers) were presented to Yashiyala T Imchen (9th rank) and Imnajungla (17th rank) in recognition of their excellent achievement under Nagaland University B.Ed. final semester examination 2022. The most promising student-teacher of the batch 2020-2022 award was presented to Imnajungla in recognition of her attributes and performance as a promising humane facilitator.

The formal programme was followed with Christmas feast and club-wise carol competition, where both the facilitators and student-teachers participated.

The occasion also witnessed the declaration of the results of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav activities under three categories including painting, photography and poetry competitions.
