Manipur reports four Covid-19 deaths; 95 new cases

Imphal, Oct. 19 (EMN):
Manipur on Tuesday reported four Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours. As a result,the state’s death toll stands at 1,901, according to official sources.

The state also reported 95 new Covid-19 cases, when 2,488 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, it said. The newly detected Covid-19 cases are mainly from Imphal West (42), Imphal East (19) and Bishnupur (13) districts taking the state’s tally increased to 1,22,899 with 1,358 active cases.

On the other hand, with 116 new recoveries including 23 from home isolation in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered Covid-19 cases in Manipur reached 1,19,640. Thus, the state’s recovery rate increases to 97.35%.

Among all the 16 districts of the state, the maximum numbers of cumulative Covid-19 positive cases were reported from Imphal West district while the maximum number of cumulative cases among the 10 hill districts was reported from Churachandpur district.

Presently altogether 175 Covid-19 cases are under home isolation. Till date 13,45,540 persons were tested for Covid-19 at the various testing centres in the state, the source said.

As per latest official reports, the state has so far given 18,41,865 doses of Covid vaccines including 12,37,529 first and 6,04,336 second doses to the residents.

Meanwhile, Manipur police on Tuesday detained 27 persons in the state for violating health protocols and released them after giving warning. An amount of INR 5,900 was also collected as fine.
