Imphal, Dec. 19 (EMN): Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Manipur’s four districts — Ukhrul, Kamjong, Tamenglong and Noney — highlighted various government schemes including the Covid vaccination status during an interaction with the Manipur Governor, La Ganesan in Imphal on Saturday.
During the interaction, Governor Ganesan said that after taking over as Governor, he had visited most of the district and had a fruitful interaction with the district administration. He however stated that he could not make it for some districts. He asked the DCs to write a letter regarding their immediate needs, so that action will be taken accordingly.
In his submission, DC Krishna Kumar of Ukhrul informed that so far 45,297 Covid vaccination including 26364 (1st dose) and 18933 (2nd dose) were given to the residents of the district. The target achieved on CMHT, a state health card was 4022 and PMJAY, central health card was 26879. Similarly, so far the district achieved enrolment of 9130 e-Shram card besides issuing 2,13,559 e-certificate in the district.
In his report, DC Rang Peter of Kamjong informed the governor that Kamjong was bifurcated from Ukhrul district on Dec. 8, 2016 adding that so far 12094 residents were vaccinated including 8027 (2nd dose). He stressed the need for one college in the district apart from infrastructure development of existing schools.
On the other hand, DC Worshang Hungyo of Tamenglong district informed the governor that Tamenglong-Mahur road was completely a compensation-free project. After its completion, Tamenglong will have two national highways.
The Tamenglong-Khongsang road, the only road linking Tamenglong district headquarters with the state capital was in a pitiable condition for so many years. However, now construction of this road is in full swing, expected to be completed by July, 2022. As for Covid vaccination, 21850 were administered 1st dose while 15309 vaccinated in the 2nd dose.
DC Haulianlal Guite of Noney district while presenting Covid-19 status informed that Noney is presently free from Covid. Staff quarters at Noney Public Health Centre are ready for inauguration and one PSA Oxygen plant at Community Health Centre Nungba is functional.
