‘Luna . Bisous . Poesy’ hits the stores

Kohima, Aug. 9 (EMN): A new book entitled “Luna . Bisous . Poesy”, a collection of poems written by Dr. Adenuo Shirat Luikham, was released at Don Bosco College, Kohima on Friday.

The book was published by PenThrill publication house.

Nini Lungalang, vice principal of Northfield Kohima, who released the book, said that she was impressed by the author’s work which has a tint of ‘feminism’ with originality and freshness. She described the book as “beautiful” from a woman’s perspective

There is light, warmness, true feeling and honesty, said Lungalang while referring to some of the lines in Lungalang’s poem. “Her femininity and feminism is unapologetic and not embarrassed,” she added.

Luikham, who is also an Assistant Professor, department of English in Don Bosco College, Kohima, said that her book “Luna . Bisous . Poesy” presents her evolutionary journey into writing over a period of 20 years.

“Luna in Roman mythology is the name of the goddess of the moon. Bisous in French means ‘kisses’ – kisses which are used in friendly greetings and partings. Poesy is a poem or a body of poems. So, the literal interpretation of the title is The moon . Kisses . Poetry,” she added.

In short, “Luna . Bisous . Poesy” is a collection that expresses life I see through the lens of my mind and my heart, and for the readers, she said.

Commenting on the book, Dr. Avinuo Kire who is also a write said it conveys a powerful message with renewed hope; with a wide range of emotions and problematic themes that explains the innermost feelings of the author.

Vishü Rita Krocha, the owner of PenThrill publication house, said that many young people have started writing poetry as a means of ‘self expression.’ She felt that poetry is important as it amplifies the real inner voices that can change a person’s life and gradually the world at large.

“Luna . Bisous . Poesy” is priced at INR 300 and available for purchase at Crossword and D Café in Kohima, and OM Book Store in Dimapur.
