Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): Lotha Middle Range Public organisation (LMRPO) unanimously resolved to support the Indo-Naga political issue for an early solution and appealed to the Naga people for unity to find a common goal.

The resolution to this effect was taken during its 6th consultative meeting held in Sanis town in Wokha district on September 30 to adopt its flag and constitution for promoting the welfare, intellectual, moral, physical and cultural advancement of all the ranges. The organisation felt that Naga national political leaders, tribal and civil society organisations at this moment need to set and practice “Tone at the top” by reflecting each one’s personal conduct, commitment to integrity and ethics.

A LMRPO press release issued by its president, Ntonsi Yanthan, and the general secretary, Abemo Lapon, said that Naga people had made their tryst with destiny a long time ago and lakhs of lives have been sacrificed for the cause of the Naga nation.

While appreciating the supreme sacrifices made by the Naga political groups since the beginning of the movement, the organisation appealed to them to forget and forgive the past mistakes and to come together as one with more trust and confidence on one another to give concerted effort in giving a push to the Naga political issue.

It stated that the choice before the Nagas is to talk to each other and come to a position that “realistically constitutes our non-negotiable position for an inclusive, honourable and acceptable solution based on the unique history and situation of the Nagas.”

LMRPO further called upon the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to conclude the protracted Naga political issue at the earliest time.
