Longpok Semchir Telongjem conference concludes

Mokokchung, Jan. 14 (EMN): Longpok Semchir Telongjem (Longkumer clan) held its general conference on January 12 and 13 in Ungma village under Mokokchung district on the theme “Lipok Tamendakdak Arangshi.”

Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer, who attended the second day of the conference, stated that the Longkumer clan has received divine favour in a number of spheres including politics, social leadership and other areas.

While pointing out that their ancestors were united, Sharingain called upon the present generation to strive for unity in order to usher in peace to the society. He also stressed on the importance of maintaining cordial relationships with other clansmen, tribes and the world.

“Building cordial relationships and bridging unity should be our obligation,” he challenged the Longkumer clan.

The main speaker, Aochuba, spoke on “Lipok Tamendakdak Arangshi,” while a greeting message was shared by Imolemba Jamir, president of Longjakrep Semchir.

During the conference, Elangstsur, Ungma Longok Semchir Telongjem presented a folk song.

Meanwhile, a new team of officer bearers were elected led by K Nokmarenba from Longsa as president, Imnekenba from Longjang as vice president, Imkongnungba Longkumer from Merangkong as general secretary, Bendangwapang from Worumong as assistant general secretary, Lanuwapang from Khar as finance secretary, Amongsang from Longkhum as assistance finance secretary, and Imotemjen from Chungtia as treasurer.
