Lok Bhavan Assam hosts celebration programme of Nagaland statehood day.

DIMAPUR — As part of the Government of India’s “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” initiative, Lok Bhavan Assam on Monday celebrated the Nagaland statehood day in the conference hall of Lok Bhavan, in presence of Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya.
In a press release, the PRO, Lok Bhavan Assam, stated that the celebrations highlighted the importance of unity in diversity and aimed to foster cultural understanding among India’s states and union territories.
Addressing the assembly on the occasion, the governor extended greetings to all present, and emphasised that Nagaland, with its rich culture, vibrant traditions, and unique tribal heritage, continues to exemplify synergy and harmony with nature.
Acharya added that the Naga society’s values of courage, hard work, and respect remain enduring treasures.
The governor highlighted that the state’s heritage, crafts, folk art, and tribal values represent the richness of India’s cultural tapestry. He also made special mention of the Hornbill Festival, calling it a celebration of the “soul of Naga society” that showcases the state’s culture on the global stage.

On this occasion, he also paid tribute to Rani Gaidinliu, the brave freedom fighter whose courage and dedication remain an inspiring chapter in India’s struggle for independence.
Highlighting Nagaland’s potential, Acharya also said that the state’s water resources, mineral wealth, favourable climate, and hardworking people are contributing to the economic growth of state.
He reiterated that celebration of statehood serves as a reminder of the great heroes, rich culture, and traditions of the respective state while inspiring new resolutions for the future.
As part of the celebration, a cultural programme showcasing the traditional music, and vibrant cultural heritage of Nagaland was also conducted.
The program was attended by Additional Advocate General, Nagaland, Monica Kechii; Assistant Controller of Defence Accounts, CDA (Army) Guwahati, Aotula Ozukum; Addl. Secretary GAD, Partha Pegu; PPA to the governor, Dr. SN Bhowmick; DRC Nagaland House, Guwahati, Ilika Zhimomi, along with a host of other dignitaries.
